Artificial Grasses In Las Vegas

Las Vegas residents love to spend time outdoors.  It is part of our lifestyle because we will generally have more than 300 sunny days a year, and almost no rain.  While this may be perfect for someone who enjoys their outdoor time, it is not very conducive to communities due to the fact that rainfall provides drinking water that is necessary in order to sustain life.  If is also necessary if you are going to grow plants or food.  Las Vegas is the kind of place that we are willing to forgo many of the traditional thoughts with regards to community life in favor of our leisure.  We are willing to bring in the things like food and water that we need, as long as we have the ability to spend time outside.

There are those that would not want to live the way that we do, and who would complain that there is not enough as far as seasons or changes in weather.  That is actually the exact reason that so many of us move here, that we are trying to escape the weather changes and are willing to pay to have the benefits of those weather changes brought to us.  Food doesn’t grow very well in the desert? That’s fine as long as we have our sun.  Landscaping is not going to be able to have the lush and green lawns that they have in other areas? That’s also fine, as long as we have our sun.  We are used to coming up with other ways to create a life that we want to lead.  The most obvious example of this type of attitude is artificial turf.

In Las Vegas, if we can’t grow it here naturally we will bring it in.  If we cannot keep it alive once it is here we will simply create another version of it that won’t have the issues.  In the aspect of a lush and green lawn, it is nearly impossible to keep grass alive in the desert, and it needs an extraordinary amount of water in order to survive.  In times of drought it will actually not be able to get the amount of water that is necessary simply because of the restrictions on watering that the county will impose.  This is why it is a terrible idea to try and grow grass in Las Vegas, and why so many members of our communities will opt to install artificial turf instead.  Synthetic grass needs no water to stay looking green and lush, and will look and feel just like real grass anyway.  So for those people who do not necessarily like the way that desert landscaping looks but still want all the benefits of 300 sunny days a year and almost no rain, artificial grass serves to solve all their problems.  It will look just like that lush lawn and yet it won’t have any of the issues.  Isn’t that what the Las Vegas lifestyle is all about? We know it isn’t real, we just don’t care.
