We have a limited supply of clean water in this area, provided by rainfall and Lake Mead. We rely on this water supply to keep our citizens and our animals hydrated and healthy, and the water supply going too low could literally result in people dying because they have no access. When people put grass lawns into their property, they are literally taking that water away from people who need it and dumping it down the sewer. Over 55 gallons of water are needed every year to keep a single square foot of grass alive, and every one of those gallons of water could be conserved to assure our people that they would have enough water to drink, if you removed your lawn or chose to not put one in.
