Summertime Artificial Turf

Las Vegas is a hot place, and in the summer it gets to a point of being almost unbearable.  This summer has already proven to be hotter than most, with temperatures already nearing 110 for almost two weeks straight.  While we always go through a period of the summer which is a lot like this, with scorching temperatures making it so that you have to spend significant amounts of time in your house, it is rare that the triple digits hit this early in the year.  This indicates that it is going to be an unusually hot summer, just like it has been for the past several years.  While the drought conditions have never alleviated for the last decade and the watering restrictions remain in place year round, we can expect water levels at Lake Mead to drop even lower as a result of this heat, and ultimately the city to restrict water waste even more than it currently is.  If you are unaware of the watering restrictions for landscaping, they are generally found on the Las Vegas Water Authority website and involve only being able to water your lawn on certain days and for certain periods of time.  Depending on where you live in the Las Vegas area determines the time slots you can water within, and you can be fined if you go outside of the restrictions.  This is simply to force conservation across the board by all residents in order to assure that there is enough water to drink for people and animals.  When you get down to it, people are more important than your lawn, and must be prioritized.

One of the benefits to living during a drought in Las Vegas is the ability to get rebates and discounts when you install artificial turf or another ground covering that is considered “water smart.” If you have a home that currently has grass and are having a difficult time keeping it healthy, you can actually have a beautiful artificial turf lawn installed for a significant discount off the regular prices that would typically be seen.  This is due to the fact that the county is attempting to conserve water and make it beneficial for residents to do the same, and as part of the effort to conserve they offer discounts of up to two dollars per square foot when you remove grass and replace it with artificial turf or crushed rock.  In addition to the discount that you can receive from the city, you will also save money every month on your water bills and always have a lawn that is green and lush.  So instead of spending your weekends trying to keep your grass lawn alive, how about just enjoying it instead?

A synthetic lawn from Desert Greenscapes will give you years of enjoyment while also being almost completely maintenance free.  Since it isn’t growing or living grass, the way that it is installed is exactly what it will look like for years to come without ever touching a mower!
