Las Vegas residents like to take it easy, probably because it is considered one of the best retirement communities in the country. There are more golf courses and outdoor spaces here than in other areas of the country, mostly because we have more than 300 days a year of sunshine and almost no rain to spoil those days. This creates an ideal atmosphere for spending time outside, but is not necessarily conducive to growing plants. In the past, Las Vegas residents attempted to recreate the east coast by putting in grass lawns that need to be fed with elaborate sprinkler systems in order to keep them alive. This is probably based on the very unique Las Vegas mentality where as long as you have the money do something, it can be accomplished. This was put forth by the casinos as they evolved from small gambling establishments to huge resorts. Because the majority of our original customers were coming from California, they were used to seeing the desert as they drove from their home into the Las Vegas area. As a marketing technique, the casinos began to develop an elaborate watering systems to grow lush tropical plants on their locations, essentially creating an oasis in the desert mentality. This idea of being able to remake your atmosphere into anything that you want to begin to take hold in the residential areas as well, with people creating a tropical paradise of their home even though it was located in an area that could not grow these types of plants naturally. As long as we have access to the water, we can make it happen. Bu this does not necessarily mean that it was the right decision, and in the last decade we find that residents are beginning to take a more conservation approach towards city living. We have figured out that it is not a good idea to waste water that we rely on as a drinking supply, especially if it is only being used on decorative plants. Combine that with the mentality that it is far better to enjoy what you have them work on it, and you get a perfect storm that creates the desire for artificial grass.
People Las Vegas enjoy spending time in their yards, but they do not want to spend their weekends working on it. They also don’t enjoyed a high bills associated with landscape companies were going to come and mow your lawn in exchange for hundreds of dollars every month. When you look at the overall aspect of conservation of our water supply as well as the desire to create maintenance free living, you realize that the installation of artificial turf solves all of these issues. When you put in fake grass, you have the ability to enjoy your yard on the weekend instead of mowing it. You find out that the installation of artificial turf will ultimately pay for itself in savings on water bills over the years, and most importantly the save our water to people and animals that need it. Step up the artificial turf and make your desert living easy.
